People ask me how I came up with the idea for the Skies of Avalon series and honestly .... it was a matter of figuring out what the market was missing. I prefer to write-to-market in the way I tackle what doesn't exist currently. Do it make comp titles and marketing a nightmare? Yep!
But these are stories that deserve to exist. Whether it's Luca and Reverie learning self-acceptance, to Fynn and Orliana moving through grief and trauma .... or Trinte and Kyrielle dealing with childhood trauma on a level fantasy doesn't dive into normally .... these aren't just their stories;
They're your stories.
Your life, but packaged in a super fun, beautiful world where I said, "Fuck it," and let the stories exist exactly as they demanded.
I poured my literal soul and trauma into these stories. There's more of me in these stories than is probably healthy, especially in Heimlock where I went deep into memories, but my experience isn't a unique one. And we all deserve to see character endure and overcome what feels impossible sometimes.
It might scare some readers, but I'm okay with that. These weren't meant for them. They're meant for you.
Luca regrets disappearing and wants nothing more than to atone for the mistake. He’s entranced by the woman made of glitter, but Reverie’s determined to hold him at wing’s length. No stranger to proving himself, he meets every glare with a grin. Each verbal barb receives a joke in return. Luca has thirty days to change her mind, and he’ll make every moment count.
The dance between aching hearts is a messy one, and they’re both unfamiliar with the steps. As each wedding passes, their connection deepens as tensions rise. The clock is ticking in more ways than one. Luca knows he needs to be honest, but if she knew the truth, he’d lose her forever.
Love may not have a timeline — but secrets do.
Always the wedding photographer, never the bride.
The dating scene in Gondora sucks worse than a rabid Kraken, especially for die hard romantic Reverie Songlight. Even her lucky-in-love wedding photography clients can’t seem to share their good fortune. So when a charming Gargoyle named Luca offers to buy her a drink at her favorite puff bar, she figures it’s worth a shot.
Over a year later, Reverie’s still angry with the Gargoyle who ghosted her. She’s resigned herself to never seeing him again. So when Luca turns up at a Satyr wedding as the replacement second photographer, she’s desperate to get rid of him.
Unfortunately, he’s the only one standing between her photography company failing or succeeding for the next month.
It’s just four weddings. Then she never has to see him again.

Lucasta, a.k.a, Luca, is your typical Gargoyle: protective, loves a good fight at the battle arena, and enjoys flying around Gondora.
After being a professional fighter for years, he decided to become a wedding photographer. His company, Stone & Skies Visuals, is one of the best in the city.
He owns a pet chimeragon, Reggie, and loves going to brunch.
Born with a siren brand, Reverie is a Glyridite who straddles two worlds. Even though she's made of songs and color, the city of Gondora isn't the most friendly.
Yet, she's made a career out of being a wedding photographer known for her abilities. It's her way of forging a space in the world.
She loves her friends, seeing the world, and being left alone by men.
Some people live in graves of grief, and no one understands this more than Flynn Gleanscale and Orliana Veritas.
Five years after a Dragxi accident that caused the death of his pregnant wife, Fynn’s still emotionally frozen. Everyone around him says enough time has passed, but he refuses — as if the skies could move on if the sun disappeared?
Forced to raise her son without his father, guilt grips her heart with merciless greed. Three years after the death of her abusive husband, Orliana’s forced to live with the consequences of her actions. Nowadays, trusting men feels like petting a hydra’s tongue and hoping to keep all of her fingers.
When Fate intervenes, Fynn and Orliana discover moving forward is never linear. Sometimes it means leaving behind what no longer serves the future, regardless of how excruciating it might be.

A Dragxi by day (CEO, by the way), and video game player by night, Fynn loves helping Gondorans travel the city on dragonback.
His brother, Trinte, plays video game tournaments and torments him in the way only brothers know how.
While Fynn is learning how to live life again, he's eager to enter this new phase in his life.
Orliana is a Siphon, which means she can not only read auras, she can feel/communicate/take emotions. While it's not intended to be a weaponized power, it can be used for either good or bad.
She spends her days with her 13yo son, Joulian. Her familiar Moxie, a purple ugopeg, keeps her days spicy with mischief.
Her best friend Kyrielle is just about the only reason she leaves the house nowadays, but that's changing slowly but surely!

(Pronounced Trin-tae) While he's still unraveling the masks that cover deep pain, Trinte loves to laugh and have fun with people. Maybe it's meant to distract people from looking too hard, but if you mention the club, Trinte is there offering a drink.
In his free time, when he's not being a Dragxi or pushing paperwork, he loves going to the battle gym to work off steam.
(Pronounced Kier-ree-elle) Kyrielle doesn't take shit from anyone, but especially men. Her day job involves helping women learn how to defend themselves ...
And will challenge their abusers when necessary.
She loves to fight men twice her size in the battle arena, and loves hazelnut coffee.
